I believe that human life is sacred and possesses inherent value, regardless of age, capability, or stage of development. The unborn child is a vulnerable member of the human family deserving of the utmost legal protection and compassion.
Inherent Value: From conception, the unborn child is a unique individual with their own distinct genetic code and an entire life ahead.
A Just Society: A truly just and compassionate society is one that extends its protection to its smallest and most defenseless members.
The Future: Protecting the unborn is an investment in the moral future of our community and our nation.
Defend the 2nd Amendment
We are a campaign dedicated to upholding the entire Bill of Rights, and we recognize the Second Amendment as a fundamental pillar of American liberty. Its placement directly after freedom of speech and religion highlights its essential role in maintaining a free state.
Self-Defense is Primary: The Supreme Court has affirmed that the right to keep and bear arms is an individual right for the purpose of self-defense, especially within the home. This is the ultimate check against tyranny and the first line of defense for every citizen.
Preventing Infringement: The text is absolute: the right "shall not be infringed." We oppose policies that systematically undermine this freedom through bureaucratic hurdles, arbitrary bans, or excessive taxation.
The Right of the People: Just as the First and Fourth Amendments protect the rights of "the people," the Second Amendment protects the people's right to arms, ensuring that ultimate political power rests with the citizenry, not the government.
Curb Taxes and Regulation
Illinois's high tax burden and tangled web of regulations are not just a Chicago problem—they are crushing families, farmers, and small businesses right here in the 118th District. Every tax dollar that leaves our area for Springfield is a dollar that doesn't support our schools, our main streets, or our family farms.
Property Tax Pain: Our state consistently ranks among the worst for property tax burden, driving up the cost of homeownership and making it nearly impossible for families to afford to stay.
Small Business Strangling: Layers of mandated fees, permits, and complex compliance rules stifle the entrepreneurial spirit and prevent local businesses from hiring our neighbors.
The Illinois Exodus: High taxes are the number one reason families and businesses leave the state, taking our community's tax base and vitality with them. We must reverse this trend.
